Celebrating Leadership and Talent in the Lower School
This week, we are delighted to congratulate our newly appointed Lower School Head Students and Deputy Head Students:
Head Boy: Adrian
Head Girl: Lisa
Deputy Head Boy: Kao
Deputy Head Girl: Ploen
We are incredibly proud of each of them and know that they will represent the Lower School with confidence, integrity and kindness. We would also like to recognise every Year 6 pupil who applied for these important leadership positions. Putting yourself forward for a leadership role takes tremendous courage. Every applicant stepped beyond their comfort zone, shared their ideas and demonstrated a genuine desire to make a positive difference. Although not everyone could be appointed to one of the four positions, every child who applied has already shown that they possess the qualities of a leader. Leadership is not simply about wearing a badge or holding a title; it is about setting a positive example, supporting others and having the confidence to use your voice. We could not be prouder of them all.
Student Council Representatives
This week, classes across the Lower School also held their Student Council nominations, and pupils have now been chosen to represent each class at our Student Council meetings.
This year, the meetings will be led by our Head and Deputy Head Students. This is an exciting development, giving our oldest pupils genuine responsibility for listening to the views of others, leading discussions and helping to turn ideas into action. Our class representatives will also develop important skills such as confidence, communication, teamwork, decision-making and problem-solving. Providing meaningful opportunities for leadership is an important part of preparing our children for the future. When pupils know that their ideas are valued and that they can influence positive change, they begin to see themselves as capable, responsible and active members of their community. We look forward to hearing their ideas and seeing the difference they will make across the Lower School this year.
From Matilda to Beauty and the Beast
Last year, our Year 6 pupils amazed us with their incredible production of Matilda. Their talent, energy and commitment made it a truly unforgettable performance and this year, we are very excited to announce that our Year 6 production will be Beauty and the Beast!
Auditions have now taken place, and the cast has been selected. We are extremely proud of every pupil who auditioned. Standing up and performing in front of others requires courage, confidence and resilience, and the children approached the process with enthusiasm and maturity.
We cannot wait to see Mr O’Sullivan and Mrs Maitland combine their creativity and expertise once again as they bring this much-loved story to life. If last year’s production is anything to go by, we know that another spectacular Lower School performance is on its way. Congratulations to the entire cast, we cannot wait to watch you shine!
